Rare and original Wolseley Hornet from 1968
The Wolseley Hornet borrows all the mechanical elements of a Mini of its era, but with a more luxurious body. BMC's marketing department had well understood the unexpected impact of English high society on the success of better equipped and higher value-added models. To satisfy a very targeted niche, BMC decided to offer two models considered to be the most high-end variants of the Mini.
To respect the Austin-Morris duality, BMC draws from its “stock” of prestigious brands to name these two models. Thus, Wolseley (for Austin) and Riley (for Morris) are chosen. These two brands, bought by Herbert Austin in 1927 and 1938 respectively, were very popular with the British bourgeoisie: Riley for its sporting connotation and Wolseley for having notably equipped a large part of the British law enforcement agencies.
Our vehicle is in excellent condition and runs perfectly.
Under the hood, the small original engine has been replaced by an impressive, fully prepared 1380 cc producing 3 horsepower, combined with a 100-speed gearbox! The engine is very torquey and the low revs are very easy to use. Parisian traffic jams don't even scare it and this car is ready to climb any mountain pass with its feet to the floor. Karting in a luxury setting.
The icing on the cake is that we have a complete history right down to its original service book! You will have understood, an atypical car which will give you a lot of pleasure behind the wheel. At My Mini Revolution, we love it!
